Forestry is a key part of Tasmania’s economy and if you’d like to develop practical skills to work in this dynamic industry, then this course is for you.
This course is delivered to those currently employed in the forestry industry either as an apprentice or non-apprentice. You’ll learn a range of skills and knowledge for work functions and job roles within the forestry sector.
You’ll learn how to communicate and interact effectively and how to contribute to team effectiveness. You can select from 11 elective units that suit your interest to complete your qualification.
You’ll also operate equipment according to workplace procedures and conduct work specific to a forest operation.
This course runs over two years. Core units are delivered at a TasTAFE campus for approximately two days and TasTAFE teachers complete workplace visits for training and assessment of units for approximately 1 day a unit.
