Learn the key concepts and design principles used by stylists.

Styling is a fast-growing industry that provides a career which is both creative and dynamic. Styling skills can be applied to set styling, photographic styling and interior styling.

This course will provide the knowledge and skills including the design principles to guide students in understanding the area and the process of styling, including:

  • The role, processes and services offered by a stylist
  • Determining a client’s requirements
  • Understanding basic space planning
  • Creating interior vignettes
  • Applying elements of design – colour / pattern / form / texture
  • Preparing concept boards
  • Implementing the design process
  • Communicating the concept to a client

The course is delivered online over 6 weeks (3 hours a week: a 1.5 hour live zoom seminar and 1.5 hours ofteacher assisted learning activities).

Prospective learners include those that might be intending to style their own home, are seeking a taster for future learning, work in affiliated industries, or retail professionals responsible for merchandising.

On successful completion of this course, you will receive a Statement of Attendance.
