To attend a Ceremony, you must be eligible. This means you have been awarded your full qualification, i.e. have successfully completed all the requirements of your course, including all units, work placement and assessments.

You are eligible to attend the Graduation Ceremony if you have completed a Certificate I, Certificate II, Certificate III, Certificate IV, Diploma or Advanced Diploma during 2024 or 2025. If you register to attend a graduation and have not successfully completed your qualification before the RSVP closing date, your ticket will be cancelled and you will be refunded in full for any amounts paid. You will then need to register to graduate at the next Ceremony, which will be in March 2026.

You can choose to graduate in the location you studied in or where you live. For example, if you studied in Hobart but live in Launceston, you can attend either of these Graduation Ceremonies. You can only attend one Ceremony, however.

Finishing your course doesn't automatically register you for your Graduation Ceremony. If you'd like to attend, you are required to register.

You will receive an email with all the relevant graduation and registration details.

If you register as a graduate, you will be participating in the on-stage Ceremony, which includes walking across the stage to receive your Letter of Achievement. You can choose to wear a gown (indicate your gown size when registering: gown sizes are based on your height, not your regular clothing size).

If you register as a guest, you will not be participating in the on-stage Ceremony.

If you are not eligible but would like to attend graduations to support your fellow learners, you are welcome to do so and can purchase a guest ticket.

If course fees are not fully paid, learners are not eligible to attend Graduation Ceremonies. Instead, testamurs will be sent to graduates after all outstanding fees have been paid in full.

All graduates will receive 2 free tickets (1 for themselves and 1 for a guest). Each additional guest is $25.00 per adult and $5.00 per child (aged 11 or under).

Your family and friends are invited to attend the Ceremony; however, due to venue capacity restrictions, everyone, including children, must have a ticket.

All children must be accompanied by an adult who is not a graduating learner.

If you find that you are ineligible to graduate or unable to attend the Graduation Ceremony due to unforeseen circumstances, you will be entitled to a 100% refund if you cancel at least 1 week before the event date. No refunds will be provided after this date.

When you arrive, please go straight to the reception desk to confirm your attendance. You will receive important information to help with the rest of the event.

After registration, graduates will be directed to the gowning area. This is where you will pick up your gown.

The gown is hired only and must be returned to the gowning room after the Ceremony, or you will be charged a fee.

We encourage graduates to celebrate cultural heritage by wearing traditional attire, such as Korowai Maori cloaks, islander Ula Loles (candy leis), Burqas, Hijabs, Niqabs, Chadors and Khimars.

On graduation day, you should feel comfortable, so you can have some fun – but you should also look smart. Your outfit should be tidy, neat and clean; think smart-casual and you’ll be on the right track.

If you’ll be wearing a gown over your outfit, we recommend removing your jacket.

You will need to stand for periods of time and walk up and down stairs and ramps, so please wear appropriate shoes.

Before the Ceremony begins, there’ll be a compulsory graduate briefing. (Please see Timings section for when this will be held.)

During the briefing, we’ll explain how the celebration works and what you can expect.

While this is happening, you'll need to sit in line according to the seating number you receive. According to this number, you’ll walk in, sit, and walk across the stage to receive your Letter of Achievement.

You must sit in your allocated seat, as this is the order in which your name will be read out.

During the Ceremony, graduating learners will sit separately from their guests. Graduates will generally be seated close to the stage and will be grouped by course and qualification level.

You'll be able to join your friends and family to celebrate after the Graduation Ceremony.

Graduation etiquette

Graduation is an exciting time. Out of respect to your fellow graduates, we ask that you stay in your allocated seats throughout the Ceremony. If you move to sit with your friends or family, you will be asked to return to your allocated seat. There will be plenty of time to celebrate after the Ceremony.

During the graduation Ceremony, you will be presented with a Letter of Achievement on stage. Your formal qualification is posted to you within 30 days of completing your course. Please ensure that your postal address is current in our system. To check, please contact Client Central on campus or call our information centre on 1300 655 307.

Graduation is an important life event that you'll want to remember in years to come. Professional photographers will be available to capture the special moment with your friends and family (another reason to arrive on time). Roving photographers may also cover each event.

The Graduation Ceremony will include the following:

• Welcome to Country
• Welcome to graduates and guests
• Presentation to graduates; and
• Conclusion of Ceremony

Walking across the stage is your moment to shine. Our friendly ushers will guide you through the process, so don’t worry if you forget a step.

When you hear your name called, start walking across the stage.

Proceed to the other side of the stage, where you will shake hands with the presenter; they will give you your Certificate of Achievement and will pose with you for a photo to capture the moment.

This is the part of the Ceremony where your family and friends cheer and applaud you on your major accomplishment!

Once you leave the stage, our ushers will guide you back to your seat.
