2025 TasTAFE Trade Excellence Awards

The annual TasTAFE Trade Excellence Awards returned in August 2025, with presentation events in Burnie, Launceston and Hobart. Our award winners came together to celebrate with their TasTAFE teachers, families, friends and colleagues.

The Trade Excellence Awards recognise our top apprentices, trainees and workplace-based learners statewide, across all trade disciplines – from construction and electrotechnology to hairdressing and primary industries.

Our 63 winners for 2025 were nominated by their TasTAFE teachers for demonstrating outstanding commitment and excellence in their TasTAFE training – with input and endorsement from their employers.

These awards are also an opportunity to say thank you to employers for their support, and to our statewide and regional sponsors – recognising the strong partnerships TasTAFE continues to build with industry groups and the wider Tasmanian community.

New to the Trade Excellence Awards this year were 3 new award categories, further highlighting our learners’ successes:

• Female Trade Learner of the Year (regional)
• First Nations Trade Learner of the Year (regional)
• Equity Trade Learner of the Year (statewide)
